Halal food in Amsterdam-West: how we do it
For many guests halal is not a detail but a requirement. You want to know where you stand before you sit down, not wonder about it at the table. This is exactly how it works at Tuana Grill in Bos en Lommer: what is halal, what we do and do not serve, and what you can check yourself.
All our meat and chicken is halal
Everything that comes off our charcoal grill or the spit is halal: adana, kuşbaşı, köfte, lamb chops, chicken, döner and shawarma. The same goes for the burgers and the chicken snacks such as nuggets, hot wings and tenders. We buy our meat and chicken from halal butchers and suppliers.
No certificate, but a straight answer
We do not have a halal certificate, and we would rather tell you up front than have you find out later. What we can say: no meat that is not halal ever enters our kitchen. If you want to know more, just ask; we are happy to explain how we work.
No alcohol, no pork
Tuana Grill does not serve alcohol and no pork enters the kitchen. There is no gelatine in our desserts or milkshakes either. After the meal every table gets tea on the house.
Vegetarian dishes and the fryer
On the menu vegetarian dishes are marked with a V. A V* means the dish is vegetarian but fried in the same oil as meat products. For halal that makes no difference, as that meat is halal too; if you eat vegetarian, you know where you stand.
Just ask
Not sure about a dish? Ask our staff before you order, or call us on +31 20 341 6285. The same goes for allergies and other dietary needs. If you order through a delivery platform, the food comes from the same kitchen, so it is just as halal.
